Our Mission

WISE stands for Wichita Innovative Schools and Educators. We're passionate about paving new paths in education. Our community is a vibrant hub for families and educators who believe in the power of alternative learning environments. We encourage "outside the box" thinking. Together, we're exploring exciting educational models that think beyond the traditional classroom.

At WISE, we understand that every child's learning journey is unique. That's why we're dedicated to offering support, resources, and a network of like-minded individuals all committed to reimagining education in Wichita and the surrounding areas. From microschools and homeschool co-ops to tutoring centers and innovative educators, we're here to empower and inspire.

Meet The Board

Dalena Wallace

Founder & President

Dalena, a homeschool mom of six, drives innovative education in Wichita. She founded WISE to support unique educational choices, including microschools, connecting families with diverse schooling options.

Katie Saiz

Katie, the heart behind Green Gate Children's School, brings 23 years of teaching and leadership experience. Married to Stan for 24 years, she's a mom to two daughters, and a friend to two pups, a cat, and three birds. Katie cherishes reading, nature, and simplicity.

Molly Stephenson

Molly is the co-founder and director of Wildflower Community School. She is passionate about serving students with diverse needs and in providing a nurturing environment for all.

Candace Fish

Candace is a veteran educator. She is the co-founder and director Freedom Preparatory School. She is passionate about creating an educational experience that is tailored to the needs of each child.

Emmi McCabe

Emmi is a long-time educator who loves to facilitate intellectual discussions and debate for her students. She loves spending time with her husband and three beautiful daughters. She is eager to help families learn more about the innovative educators in the Wichita area.
